For sale is a richly decorated antique French map of the Rhône department from the year 1876. On the left a Roman on the bank of the Rhone river by Ludgunum (the Latin name for Lyon). He holds a stick with portraits of 3 Romans who were born in Lyon. On the bottom right St. Ambroise and above that portraits of Ampere and Jacquart (famous Frenchmen born in the department). This detailed map is hand-colored. A very nice map with nice wide margins.
Dimensions: 22.5 x 27.5 cm
Condition: the map is in good condition.
Origin: La France et ses Colonies, published in Paris by Migeon (1876)
