Storage tips for old maps

The following tips will help you enjoy your purchase for as long as possible.

• Do not hang the card in direct sunlight and do not point a lamp directly at the card.
• Try to avoid temperature fluctuations. Do not place the card near a heater.
• Do not place the card in a damp room or on a damp wall.
• Frame the map. Use acid-free materials.

Even with the above tips, a card can still discolour, which has to do with the materials used. If you follow the tips, the speed of discolouration is much lower.
