Anoriginal John Rapkin map of China and Myanmar. Rapkin maps are sought after and are therefore becoming increasingly rare.This edition of the map comes from an old encyclopedia (The Royal Dictionary Cyclopaedia) published in (circa) 1860. It does not have the vignettes that other Rapkin maps have, but it does have the beautiful, decorative border.
Dimensions: 27 x 34 cm
Condition: map was issued with a horizontal and two vertical fold lines (so that the map fits in the encyclopedia). The fold lines are not completely flat / sharp. The upper left corner is missing. There is also a small (repaired on the back) tear of 1 cm. All in all in reasonable / good condition.
