For sale is a beautiful French world map from 1780, titled "The Ancient World and the New World in Two Hemispheres." This 245-plus-year-old map was designed by Rigobert Bonne and comes from the renowned atlas accompanying the third edition of Raynal's "Histoire des deux Indes." The map clearly shows that North America was largely uncharted at the time. Many countries, such as Japan and Australia, also have unusual shapes.
Dimensions: 24.5 x 44 cm
Condition: good (some minor signs of age and use, see photos, but in good overall condition). With three vertical fold lines, as issued. The left fold line was folded incorrectly at some point and is not completely flat. The back is blank.
